Taylor Sheridan Raises His Middle Finger To Irish Catholics With Yellowstone 1923
The woke clamored for his head for Yellowstone's "Red State" success and he's delivered it with demonic spades with "1923"
I bet you didn’t know that in the early part of the 20th century, Irish men and women, apparently bored to death with beating & molesting their younger siblings and neighbors on the Emerald Isle took the habit and the collar to make a sojourn to the Montana plains to land cushy government jobs… beating and molesting Indian girls on what appears to be the house from Texas Chainsaw Massacre in Montana.
I bet you didn’t know that the Benedictine sisters at these boarding schools were pederast lesbians who sexually molested the girls in their care while bathing them.
I bet you didn’t know that the priests and religious at these schools took the “graduates” of these schools to parts unknown ostensibly killing them or selling them into sex slavery and that NONE of the graduates were ever seen or heard from again.
I bet you didn’t know that Irish Catholics fled Ireland around the same time to move to Montana and practice the aged Irish Catholic art of trespassing on privately owned ranch lands, poaching the livestock and feed and then shooting any heathen witnesses who may have stumbled onto their grift. The Irish Catholics apparently know nothing (pun intended) of what private property or laws made to protect it are.
I bet you also didn’t know that Benedictine sisters and Jesuit priests traveled all the way from Ireland to Montana to build 3 foot square , 6 foot tall slave cages to “isolate” the bad Indian girls, outdoors in winter, and soften them up to accept some form of Catholicism that traffics in raising Indian maidens to be trained to be wives for….
I don’t know and I won’t be finding out because 13 minutes into Episode 2 of “1923” my wife and I turned the show off in disgust, never to return. This is apparently Sheridan’s take on the now near-completely debunked, recent story of Canada’s Kamloops Indian residential school and others like it where supposedly “mass graves” of abused then murdered children were “discovered”. These schools were run by Catholic priests and other Catholic religious.
The REAL story of the Canadian boarding school tragedy is that it was the government of Canada that bears nearly complete responsibility for what happened to the Indians at the Catholic run boarding schools. Per the Canada Free Press.
The Liberal government ignored the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 2015 (TRC) Report. Volume 4 of the multi-volume Final Report entitled “Canada’s Residential Schools: Missing Children and Unmarked Burials”. It is a sobering 286 page (including index) read. Sobering too, is the Report prepared for the TRC by anthropologist, Dr. Scott Hamilton who was retained by the Commission to address the issue of the cemeteries (WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN BURIED?). Both documents have been in the public domain since 2015 when the TRC Report was released.
Rather than accept responsibility for his government’s failure to act, Trudeau is now trying to shift blame onto the Roman Catholic Church stating “we expect the Church to step up and take responsibility for its role in this and be there to help in the grieving and the healing .... It’s something we are all still waiting for the Catholic Church to do”.
“The federal Department of Indian Affairs was responsible for the residential schools”
In addition, Trudeau’s Minister of Northern Affairs, Dan Vandal, has the insolence to state that ‘religious leaders who operated the residential school system in Canada should be accountable for any crimes committed ... of course they need to be charged ... we need to do all things necessary to achieve justice ... to bring charges forward”.
This inept Liberal government has not only failed to carry out its responsibilities in regard to the TRC recommendations, but also has failed to acknowledge that the federal Department of Indian Affairs was responsible for the residential schools. According to Dr. Hamilton’s review, the department that funded them refused to pay for the costs of the burial of the children who died at the schools, refused to pay the costs of transporting the children to their families, and to maintain the cemeteries.
This offensive failure by the government required the religious groups administering the schools to establish the cemeteries on the school grounds. According to Dr. Hamilton, not only school children were buried in these cemeteries, but also teachers, their families, and the religious who taught in the schools as well as members of nearby municipalities. The actions of the federal government under the Indian Affairs Department and Trudeau’s liberal government today, have disgraced all Canadians.
You’d think that Sheridan might have bothered to research his fantastical basis for one of 1923’s major plot-lines but the attraction for a Hollywood A Lister to practice bigotry against The Catholic Faith and Her religious is just too easy a low hanging fruit for someone who desperately needs to make a sacrifice to the god of woke—Yellowstone was snubbed by the Emmy’s this year— and besides, he’s out to save the Indians FROM Red States.
Sheridan insists that Yellowstone is not a “red-state show.” “They refer to it as ‘the conservative show’ or ‘the Republican show’ or ‘the red-state Game of Thrones,’ ” he told me. “And I just sit back laughing. I’m like, ‘Really?’ The show’s talking about the displacement of Native Americans and the way Native American women were treated and about corporate greed and the gentrification of the West, and land-grabbing. That’s a red-state show?”
The idea that Catholics came to the “New World” and especially the Canadian wilderness for the purposes Sheridan lays out in 1923 is outrageous when stacked against the heroic acts of selflessness of those 8 saints known as the North American Martyrs like Fr. Isaac Jogues and Fr. John de Breboufe.
I should also mention that Harrison Ford is mis-cast as a scowling, growling, older version of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton character from Yellowstone. Helen Mirren plays his wife who in the show’s opening scene proves she is able to mete out judge, jury and executioner justice with a healthy Irish accent and a double barreled shotgun.
I take Taylor Sheridan at his word that Yellowstone and its spinoffs are what he says they are about “the gentrification of the West, and land-grabbing…”, you should too and skip it.
I was going to comment about this but you beat me to it with a definitive and accurate assessment. I oddly had DVR’d the premier episode of 1923, but hadn’t watched it until Sunday. I never watched 1883 but was intrigued by the star power of the cast of 1923. I have followed and watched Yellowstone from the start, but my interest has waned because of the lack of character development and growth. Okay, Beth is a bitch, Jamie is a controllable wimp and John Dutton is a one dimensional Neanderthal that is more interested in chasing tail than bringing his family together. So I’m about done! Taylor Sheridan has a great resume of movies that remain in my favorites, but his ventures into streaming series TV has been found lacking. Maybe he’s spread too thin, but that is on him. Yellowstone is about to crash and his prequels are not up to snuff. I watched the premiere episode of 1923 and was interested in the background of the Dutton’s, but I blinked and found myself watching a sadist/voyeur escapade against the Catholic Church! Where did that come from? “What are you watching?” Screamed my wife! I said, “Give it a minute and see if this makes sense”. It never did and I turned it off and deleted the recording. Where’s his research to support this attack on Catholics? I have heard good things about his new venture Tulsa King, maybe that’s where his talents are concentrated? In the meantime, his Yellowstone franchise is going down in flames along with credibility and the “Taylor Sheridan” brand. And brand is a difficult thing to recover from!
