I converted after reading of St. Culmcille (Columba), who destroyed a fort gate by waving his hands. The mainstream Protestant view is that such things are "pious legend" at best. Believe it or not, many Protestant groups don't believe that baptism infers grace, or forgives sin.
When I read of the Catholic saints, the miracles they performed, and how those miracles are consistent with Scripture, I realized that the Protestant idea was false. Baptism actually DID something. The "bread and wine" actually DO become the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord.
I could have done an entire radio show length presentation on the miracles of the saints! I'll post the whole talk when I get bandwidth back on Monday!
