The REAL Meaning of Juneteenth

The human events of June 19th, 1776 were the REAL Juneteenth

“The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of brave resistance, or the most abject submission. We have, therefore, to resolve to conquer or die.” - George Washington, GENERAL ORDERS | TUESDAY, JULY 02, 1776

On "Juneteenth", 1776, The 2nd Continental Congress busied itself with ACTUAL patriotic & "important" affairs ("accomplishments!" they lecture us). They send 3,300 MILITIA men to capture an accused traitor (Ben Franklin's son, William, then Royal Governor of New Jersey.)

They then agreed that Continental Soldiers needed uniforms and provided George Washington with the authority to order them.

Meanwhile, Washington was busy preparing NYC & LI for Howe's invasion (see Juneteenth General Orders, below).

So you see, kiddies, our Founding Fathers were busy actually MAKING the history #Juneteenth pimps are ignoring today!
